OUR FEATURED TALENT
Robert Phillips, M.Mus, MCP, RCC. As a counsellor, I believe that there are as many unique paths to healing as there are individual persons on this planet. Because of this, I also believe that openness and creativity in the therapeutic process is paramount to success. Whether you are passing through a life transition, facing depression or anxiety, battling addiction, or simply feeling “stuck”, I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey and to discovering new ways to cope. I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Prior to pursuing a career in mental health, I attended the University of Victoria where I completed a Master of Music (2013). There are many important skills that I learned during that time, but above all else, it was the experience of being creative in a relational context that is most important as I move into healing. Whether it is the person-centred approach, cognitive-behavioural therapy, or some other technique that fits best, together I believe we can find new ways of being that work for you. I look forward to our work.
Tracy Tillapaugh I have been a school counsellor for 12 years. I work with children, youth and families. I enjoy supporting people with depression, anxiety, and trauma, as well as with family issues. I have a keen interest in the area of play therapy, as well as other modalities that I utilize in my practice as well. My goal is always to provide a safe, caring space for any issue, subject, and for every person that I am fortunate enough to work with.
Heather Rennie, RCC I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist with over twenty-five years of experience. I offer affordable, professional, high quality counselling to individuals, couples, families and groups. I draw on a wide variety of therapeutic approaches to ensure that we find the one that is the best fit for you. Whether you are grieving a loss, facing a life transition, living with a health challenge, struggling with anxiety or depression, fighting to keep love alive, or healing from a trauma, I can help. Together let’s shine a light on the next step of the path.
I have a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I approach counselling from a person-centred, family systems and attachment-informed perspective. I also incorporate aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), as appropriate.
Adrienne Johnson, M.A., M.Div, RCC, CCC I am passionate about helping clients who are facing challenges in transitions, relationships, or who are exploring questions about their life’s meaning and purpose. I also have experience working with anxiety, depression, and stress management. I approach my work with warmth, inclusion and open-mindedness. I believe that each person is the expert in their own life, and that my job as a counsellor is to help facilitate each person’s exploration of their own unique skills, strengths, and story.
I use a holistic approach, and draw on a variety of theoretical approaches and techniques, tailoring my work to each person’s individual needs to help them create positive and lasting change. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#6913) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (#6710) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
George Passmore, M.A., R.C.C. I have developed a depth of understanding of a broad range of life issues during my diverse experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (since 1997). My approach places a priority on developing a strong and safe therapeutic relationship that is tailored to each client, drawing from my extensive training in therapeutic approaches such as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR and Psychodrama. I have effectively assisted adults, couples and youth in addressing challenges such as the development of authenticity and self-awareness, increasing the capacity to connect deeply with others, enhancing parenting, moving through grief, managing anger and other emotions, recovery from addiction (with a specific focus on repairing relationships impacted by substance use), strengthening male identity, and resolving family of origin issues.
Jeannie Campbell, M.Ed., RTC, MTC. Embrace Change. Embrace Your Potential.
I provide a safe and caring environment for youth or adults to explore emotions and learn skills that will help you navigate the life transitions you are facing. I specialize in helping people overcome life struggles because I believe these struggles are part of life and do not have to define your life.
I will meet you where you are in your life journey and I will use a variety of therapeutic techniques to help guide you to where you want to be. I have a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and I am a Master Therapeutic Counsellor (MTC) registered with the Association of Co-operative Counselling Therapists (ACCT). Jennifer Hammersmark, Ph.D., R.C.C. I am the owner of The Counselling Group and I have been doing this work for almost 25 years — and I love it! It is the best job in the world. Helping people heal, getting them through tough times, or helping them achieve their next goal…it is all very rewarding. I have had other careers before this one, and my childhood had it’s fair share of challenges. All of this comes together to help you — whether it be myself personally, or connecting you with one of the great therapists I partner with, my commitment is still the same: “Let all those who come leave better and happier” Mother Teresa.
